New channels, old problems

The controversy over a recent discovery that Amazon appeared to have de-listed certain content, including a host of books with gay and lesbian content, erupted over the past weekend. It has been well-covered elsewhere, so I point to three good links: – Kassia Krozser, whose Booksquare post provides both history and a call to action; – Kat Meyer, in Follow the Reader, who provides a reminder of why Twitter and other social media matter; – and Richard Nash, offering a thoughtful piece on why this particular “glitch” is more painful and important than many others. My thanks to these three bloggers and many others who took up the issue as it became public.
